UzimaNexus Joins the 2026 CUBiO Global MedTech Accelerator
We are thrilled to announce that UzimaNexus has joined the 2026 CUBiO Global MedTech Accelerator. In announcing our participation, CUBiO Innovation Hub introduced UzimaNexus as joining the program with an innovative vision for the future of healthcare systems, and committed to supporting us over the next six months as we build the digital backbone for the next generation of health systems in emerging markets.
CUBiO Innovation Hub is a venture development and innovation platform based in Houston, Texas, where it runs a collaborative life sciences and technology accelerator and wet lab in the heart of the Texas Medical Center. Founded in 2018, CUBiO works with early-stage companies on commercialization, partnerships, and market expansion, helping innovators across life sciences, energy, and technology move from concept to real-world execution.
The Global MedTech Accelerator runs for approximately six months, with cohort sessions held twice a week. Its curriculum works through the questions that decide whether a health technology company can scale: business model clarity, go-to-market strategy, risk assessment and mitigation, regulatory pathway and compliance, intellectual property and competitive advantage, market validation and customer engagement, and pitch development. Participants also receive one-on-one business guidance, industry-specific and prototype development mentorship, and opportunities to collaborate and network with investors.
CUBiO's announcement named fragmentation as one of healthcare's most complex challenges, and it is the problem UzimaNexus exists to solve. Across much of Africa, a single patient's history is scattered between clinics, labs, and pharmacies that cannot read one another's records, and that is where repeated tests, lost patient records, and delayed treatments come from.
Our platform unifies patient records, AI-powered clinical decision support, automated clinical workflows, and a blockchain-based consent and data trust layer within a single HIPAA-compliant, secure, and interoperable system. Interoperability is the part that matters most at the bedside: when separate systems can exchange data and be read together, care follows the patient instead of stopping at the door of whichever facility they visited last.
Control of that data stays with the patient. Our blockchain-based consent layer is designed so that individuals decide what is shared and with whom, and our UziCoin health incentive program rewards patients for ethical data sharing, creating a privacy-respecting data ecosystem that can power predictive analytics at community scale.
CUBiO's announcement also highlighted the team building the platform. Our Founder and CEO, Prudence Ibila, is a biomedical engineer driving strategy at the intersection of AI, blockchain, and healthcare infrastructure, and our CTO, Alvin Masse, leads the engineering behind the system.
